Former President Jimmy Carter Dead At 100

ATLANTA (Dec. 29, 2024) — Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States and a global symbol of peace and humanitarianism, passed away peacefully today at the age of 100. Surrounded by his family at his home in Plains, Georgia, President Carter leaves behind a remarkable legacy as the longest-lived president in U.S. history and a recipient of the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize for his dedication to advancing human rights and resolving conflicts worldwide.

President Carter is survived by his children — Jack, Chip, Jeff, and Amy — as well as 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who continue to carry forward the values he championed. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalynn Carter, a steadfast partner in his work and life, and one grandchild.
